What is the difference between Opal™ Classic Prefilled Whitening Trays and Opal™ Gentle Prefilled Whitening Trays?
Our Gentle formula contains a lower hydrogen peroxide content (only 6%) compared to our Classic formula (11%), making it perfect for even the most sensitive smiles. If you’re concerned about sensitivity but still looking to safely brighten your smile, our Gentle Prefilled Whitening trays are made especially for you!
Do I need to brush my teeth before I use Opal™ Prefilled Whitening Trays?
We recommend giving your teeth a quick scrub with Opal™ by Opalescence® Original or Sensitivity Relief Toothpaste after using your prefilled whitening trays.
Do Opal™ Prefilled Whitening Trays provide the same results as professional whitening treatments?
Many people notice quick, visible results—up to 4-5 shades whiter5—after using Opal™ by Opalescence® Prefilled Whitening Trays. That being said, everyone responds differently to teeth whitening treatments and everyone’s teeth whiten at different rates. Some stains are easier to treat than others. Yellow or brown teeth are easier to whiten than gray-ish teeth. Even age can impact the rate at which your teeth whiten! If in doubt, we recommend you visit your dentist for a pre-whitening consultation, so that they can help you make the right choice.
What’s the difference between Opal™ Original Whitening Toothpaste and Opal™ Sensitivity Relief Whitening Toothpaste?
Both of our toothpastes offer the same brilliant whitening benefits, but our Sensitivity Relief formula goes the extra mile for gentle smiles, featuring potassium nitrate to help soothe sensitive teeth.
What’s the difference between Opal™ Whitening Toothpaste and regular toothpaste?
Opal™ Original Whitening Toothpaste packs some extra perks compared to your ordinary toothpaste. It’s sweetened with xylitol, which may reduce the risk of tooth decay, and it has a unique and pleasant Cool Mint flavor. Plus, our mild abrasive formula is kind to teeth and gums.
For the most gentle smiles, our Sensitivity Relief Whitening Toothpaste offers the same brilliant benefits as our Original Whitening Toothpaste, but it also contains potassium nitrate to help soothe sensitive teeth.
Have gum health concerns? Our Complete Whitening Toothpaste is formulated with a unique stannous fluoride ingredient to help prevent gingivitis, whiten teeth, reduce sensitivity, and prevent cavities—all in one gentle formula with a refreshing Brilliant Mint flavor1.
The best part? All of our toothpastes are safe for everyday use, so you can keep them in your whitening routine.
What’s the difference between Opal™ Whitening Mouthwash and regular mouthwash?
One swish of Opal™ Whitening Mouthwash packs a gentle yet effective punch. Unlike many leading mouthwashes, our whitening mouthwash contains no alcohol, just the right amount of Hydrogen Peroxide to whiten teeth, and a cool, minty flavor for lasting freshness—all while being safe on enamel and brilliant on smiles.
Whether you need a quick mid-morning rinse or a pre-date confidence booster, add our new certified gluten-free, certified kosher, and vegan mouthwash to your daily oral care routine.
Can I use Opal™ Whitening Mouthwash on the same days that I use Opal™ Prefilled Whitening Trays, Opal™ Whitening Toothpaste, or my custom trays with Opal™ Whitening Gel Refills?
Yes! In fact, Opal™ by Opalescence® teeth whitening products are uniquely formulated to work together for maximum results. We recommend using our whitening toothpaste twice daily, rinsing with our mouthwash 1–2 times daily, and whitening with one kit (7 treatments) of prefilled trays monthly. Check out The Brilliant Bundle to learn more.
Can I use Opal™ teeth whitening products with crowns, veneers, fillings or other dental work?
Yes! It’s safe to use our teeth whitening products on both natural and unnatural tooth surfaces. Our unique formulations will not affect the color or shade of a crown, veneer, implant, filling or tooth restoration. But, you can use our products to whiten your natural teeth to better match your dental work.
If you are whitening your teeth before a bonding procedure, talk to your dentist. We recommend avoiding any whitening treatments for 7–10 days before a bonding procedure.4-6
